{lights come back on}

This is the story of a stressed out girl. working on a friday night...

As she tried to stay awake, counting her change, hoping to have enough for a vending machine snack to help her...the power in the little rebate building went off. At first, there was silence, followed by giggling when the light didn't jolt back on. They pretended to still work in the pitch black like they were asked, and chatted, something normally not allowed. Twenty minutes later, boss comes in to say

"still no word on the powerline being fixed. the bad news is the stoplights are out too. the good news is i have to ask you all to leave for the night" (ok not as dramatic and sudden as the title, but close...)

They smile and cheer, pack of their things, sanitize their computers, put on their coats (all in the dark)...and BING the lights erupt to life...as their hope for sanity quickly dies.

Basically, we were teased with the wonderful news that we could leave early, but right when we were about to actually take off, the pwoer came back on. I think we all secretly thought we would still be able to leave. But we groaned, and went back to work. All in all, the rest of the shift still went pretty fast. Now I'm home with a candle burning, christmas lights on, and relaxing until i get amped up to spend the rest of the week in the library. BRING IT ON LAST NINE DAYS OF COLLEGE!
