This whole...being an adult thing...has it's ups and downs. I try and focus on the ups...but uggggggg it's weird. Some things I have learned:
::: when I am close to falling asleep at work, it's fun to make artwork with recycled envelopes
::: one person singing in a quiet office setting is not easily covered up by anything i can find on my ipod (and you can't really complain when it's your boss doing the singing...)
::: when someone has really bad gas (like rotten egg toots) in a quiet office setting...the day gets exponentially longer
::: as a recent graduate, it's really hard to stop planning your life in "semesters" rather than months and years like normal people
::: if you wear headphones 8 hours a day, 5 days a week--you will get weird little red marks on your ear
::: is an addiction to audiobooks about crimes in the future weird?
::: if I had a dime for every creepy evangelical pamphlet people send with their rebates...i would have enough...to buy lunch (from the dollar menue...but still it's excessive)
::: sometimes, handeling mail gives great baby name ideas: like elsa mae
::: sometimes, it gives other great names...like town names. for example, Wahoo, IL or Butt (I wish I could remember what state this is in, but I forget, and I can't even google it because nonsense comes up...)
::: it's sad that that ^, is about the only interesting thing that happens to me at work
::: the dexter book series ROCK! But only one is available through the 3 libraries I subscribe to online...boo
::: maybe I should have considered going to grad school...i would love to research knuckle cracking (it's so weird! and is it bad, is it not?!?!? will we ever know!)
::: when you accidentally replace the wrong headlight on your car....you won't ever do that again. UG
::: the song "What I Wouldn't Do" used to make me smile and bounce walking back from campus last year...and it still makes me so happy. A kind of happy that's so genuine, it's hard to describe. Weird how that can happen ay?
WHOA that was way longer than I anticipated. Maybe I do learn more than I think being an adult...hehe;)
AND ON A DIFFERENT NOTE!!!
Over the weekend I went to Bock Fest at Schell's Brewery with my mom and friends...SO FUN! This little town knows how to party! I have to say, that the highlight of the weekend was being introduced to a townie names Denny. I was lucky enough to be given his "life wisdom", which he has printed and laminated on cards (pictured below)! oh my goodness...so cute!
easier to read:
"I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather
that my spark should burn
out in a brilliant blaze than it
should be stifled by dryrot.
I would rather be a superb meteor,
every atom of me in
magnificent glow, than a
sleepy and permanent planet.
The proper function of man is
to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days in trying
to prolong them.
I shall use my time."
(i really, REALLY like that last part).
What a great man, thanks Denny:)

omygosh it sounds like your job is just as boring as mine eeeeeek. Luckily the internet censors here forgot to block blogspot, so I'm able to journal just how boring my day is. I also draw little pictures of what I imagine the people I'm surveying look like (devil horns and all)
hahaha! yes!!! hurray for mindless office jobs...not. we're lucky though, really:) at least we have one! yesterday i made a mini box made out of receipts with a scroll message inside for one neighbor...and a pop-up card made of envelopes with an illustration of myself for another. today i made a paper flower. done all without a scissors mind you!!! hehehehe
hahaha, love this! Being an adult isn't all it's cracked up to be when your 8 years old... I totally know what you mean about baby name ideas, every once in a while I'll run across a patient's name that strikes my fancy and jot it down. you know, for future babies. :)
