self portrait saturday - i have love

One of my most fav blogs EVER, The Wonder Forest, does a link-up Self Portrait Saturday. I have been checking them out for a few weeks now, and I decided to try it out this time!

First of all, it was a big to-do, since I am not really comfortable with taking photos of myself...so I had to wait until my roommates were gone, and tromp out to the porch to take my photo. This week had a prop theme, and I instantly knew what I wanted to use. 

My amazing mama is an artist, and she paints awesome little wood blocks {check out her blog here!}. Last weekend when I was home, I was sanding some wood for her, and she turned around and randomly gave me this little guy! I have been obsessing over it all week. And it means the world to me. Firstly, because she is pretty oblivious, still, how much talent she has and how much I genuinely love her work {and she doesn't get how cute mini things like this are, omg}. Secondly, because she is truly my BFF. And thirdly, it's an amazing reminder lately. Even though I am in a transitional time of my life that consists of going to work, coming home, and going to bed, I have so much love. I am blessed in SO many ways. And no matter how down I am feeling, there is always this. 

So indeed, 

i have love.

I fear that there's a lot of emphasis on the "prop" rather than the "self" in this self portrait, but it's symbolic I promise! I sometimes need to step outside of myself, and my mind, and my obsessive thoughts, and my anxiety. So to me this photo represents focusing on what I have that is true and not misconstructed in my mind. So I focus on the love.
