The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite childhood memories. There were a few years out of high school that I didn't go to my family cabin, mostly because I would always just take work shifts no one wanted. But as far as I'm concerned, that was a mistake. Because the 4th rocks. There was college beer games (i'm no longer the college student teaching which is so weird), bonfires, sugar covered bacon, swimming off the boat-which is to this day one of my favorite things in the world, temporary tattoos, amazing food, too many desserts, and also lots of mayflies. Ew. But seriously, great time with family, they're a blast. We were definitely missing my gramps and gramps who weren't able to come this year. We missed them a ton. Until next year!
