This space is part of my story, and of course i want it to be happy photos and memories. But i think it's important to note my thoughts on important events and current topics that impact daily. Our country has gone through a huge scary shift. There are so many emotions and fears and few really know how to understand it or explain it or do something about. I have guilt and remorse and sadness and empathy and all these things wrapped up into a ball that can make me insta-cry at the drop of a hat. There have been a lot of articles and viral posts on current topics, but when J sent me this article by a Timberwolves player (lol he's gonna love that i'm referencing this), I thought the message was simple and appropriate.
The thing people keep saying over and over is also simple.
more love.
"There are more Americans who want to understand other people — people who look past pigmentation … people who talk with love that can shiver a person’s mind and soul … and people who live to improve not only their families’ lives, but the lives of every family in this beautiful country. There are more of those people than there are people who want to divide, degrade and corrupt us."
"We have to love each other more, and we have to show it more. I know that for sure."
I'm privileged and safe. And aware of that.
But I am also outraged and fed up.
