A few weeks ago my wonderful mother had a birthday. My sister and I made her a cake, and wanted to decorate it. We didn't have much to work with, but I think we improvised pretty well. I sketched some drawings on the back of a paper plate (the number 45, happy birthday and a drawing of the three of us:)). Then we added some candles, umbrellas we found at the bottom of a drawer somewhere and then I attempted to paint on the cake with purple frosting. I managed to make a presentable flower, but then I tried to add a trail of dots. But it just looks like a bunny had runny purple poopies and was walking away, leaving little dots...
I also got home late and left little encouraging birthday messages all about the kitchen, along with big signs my sister made and streamers made out of rolls of white cash register paper and ribbon.
Despite this attempt at a DIY birthday, us girls love our mamma more than can be expressed in words!
