life lately | february 2016

I saw this post on instagram the other day that said something like, well January happened in 10 minutes...dammnit. I can't even remember what it said. I should have kept it. ARGGGGH. Anyway...it was basically something clever that was exactly how I felt...that I can't believe how fast March is coming!!! The last few months have gone by so fast and so many good things have happened! What a blessing life is.

I really love having all the text from a post on the top of the page. But realistically that's just silly, so I'm going to start describing the photos under the photo-duh. I mean it just makes more sense.

And an FYI these life lately posts are always wildly out of order. As always, if only I was better at blogging more often. But I'm still just thankful that I blog at all. Like really really thankful. I freaking love that I do this. Not to toot my own horn, but here I am tooting. I wish everyone did it!!!
Taco dinner with J's crew! It was such an unexpectedly awesome night! We made tacos for everyone, hung out, and then went to 331 for a dance party! It was seriously just a really genuine good time.
Weekend mornings are the best. I always go and grab a comforter from our bed and snuggle up. J never initiates that, it's always my job, but you can bet he sneaks under there right away :)
My bud from work and her fiancé came over for after an awesome dinner at Brasa! We collectively love that place. They stayed until like 1am...! What! We're so young and fun ;) We literally just chatted all night long, it was wonderful.
We had a couple over for dinner and had the best lasagna and best conversation. Adulting, we're doin' it.
J's mom and hubs came over for meat and cheese and a catch up. And they brought their pup Newman who is seriously the coolest dog. Probably my 3rd favorite (just below Zeke and my own as an FYI).
Katherine came over and we made soup and she wore her jammies and I put mine on too and it was a dream. Then we made banana ice cream and snuggled up to watch It Follows. Now that work has slowed down, I get to see her more throughout the day. But there was a period where I wasn't taking lunches and was too busy, so I'm so happy I get to have more of her in my life now:)
I met my college buds Ian and Paul in uptown for brunch! It was such a good time and so much reminiscing was happening!
Facetiming was the greatest invention ever. Does Apple know the weight of this amazeballsness? I'm sure they do, they're apple, they don't have a humble bone in their body. Anyway, I'm so thankful for it!!! We got to chat with my mom a bit. Time passes so quick when we talk, sometimes an hour passes and we just stare at each other and say, we'll, I guess I'm see ya later! I wish I had a mini mom that I could keep in my pocket so I was always with her :(
I didn't catch a pic of my bestie Erin, but I got da baby!!!! Look at that face. They live in Michigan, we try and visit them every year, I've blogged about it before (here and also here when they were in Red Wing), but it's not enough. So again, thank you facetime! And also snapchat, because when Erin snaps her or the babe, it makes my WHOLE DAY literally better.
Valentines day brunch! Our favorite bfast to share...paleo McMuffins (recipe here). It seriously is the best.
J's dad gifted us a stay at Nicolet Island Inn which rocked! We also went to dinner at our fave around the corner, and music at Bunkers!
I've been finding a lot of joy in tea lately, especially to warm me up!
I won't go into details, but J looking over someone's drafting dating profile messages-the sweetest thing in the world. I just really loved the moment and the format of the messages - handwritten first!!!). So sweet.
Tea and plantains, a staple!
I picked up sis on a Friday and we crossed the border to mammas! It's sometimes stressful to get there on a Friday in rush hour and all that crap, but I'm so glad we still do it, because I'm obsessed with going there. It's so great. Our step sis and her husband were there, and some random people, because they were all skiing the Birkie in the morning. Everyone made pizza (none for me since I'm on Whole30!) and went to bed early to get up at 4:30. The three of us snuggle and giggle before bed though of course. J and I woke up to an empty house and took our time making breakfast. We took a trip to trader joes and then made our way to our dads!
My mom is great at hosting...of course she randomly took out her beading stuff and sat anyone down who wanted to, to make their own bracelet. What a cutie. Plus look at that cute bowl she conveniently had...
Our sis! She lives in Utah, so it' awesome when we get to see her!
Snuggling before bed!
Facetiming!
My brother, all the heart eyes.
My obsession. Frozen banana coins with coconut oil + cocoa powder covering. They are AMAZING. and sugar free!
Grams, gramps, mike and shelly all came to join us!

What a solid joy life has been.
Cheers to more wonderful weeks to come!
