life lately | november 2016

Wow. What a whirlwind this month has been! I can't even believe tomorrow is December. I've wanted to document some things so bad, and just haven't made the time. I know I will be thankful to look back at this time in life!


There have not been enough minutes in the day lately. Work has been super full. And every night I have wanted to come home (home!) and work on the house. Some thoughts to note:
-We spent the beginning of November soaking in the last days in our hood. With the beautiful leaves and great walks. We will miss it here a lot.

-We are SO happy with the house. We feel like it's coming together so slowly, but its so fun to watch the process. We got rugs yesterday, and I'm starting to paint cabinets - yippee!
-Thanksgiving week was CRAZY but crazy awesome. Thursday was John's family. Friday was Browns. Saturday was Prestby's and Sunday was Thompsons!
-Newman was staying with us. and dayum do I want a pup in this house....EEEEK! We'll see how long my brain can fight my heart.

-All of a sudden today I realized, my tailbone is ok! I think it was sore without realizing it after moving and doing so much with the house. Even though walking and standing doesn't hurt it, I think it wore it out more than I realized. And I go back to the gym tomorrow so it's perfect timing yahoo!
-Dad and Julie bought me a new saw and power drill for my house, yahoo!

-My commute isn't too much worse, so that's good!
-Real talk - buying a house is stressful apparently. Jk that's general knowledge. For awhile there I felt like J and I were getting in a tiff a couple times a day. We're trying extra hard to just be open minded about things this week - hopefully we can keep that going! It's so tough because we both have such different priorities. I want the projects and DIY stuff to be finished, he wants to fill the rooms with our stuff so it feels more complete. Both are right, we just have to meet half way on what we can except the other to do about it. It's a learning process indeed!


-We moved out of the apartment! So sad. But so exciting. Also, hiring a moving company was one of the best decision we have made yet. SO WORTH IT. I think it was about $500 when all said and done. I would pay it again in a heartbeat.

 After moving weekend mom and sis came to visit of course and we went to Hazels. These two people are home owners!

One of the day mom kept saying she had this surprise...and it was my aunties!!! They came over to see the house and we giggled a lot. J learned a lot about why I am the way I am after meeting these blonde weirdos ;)

Newman snaps. Always. And facetiming E! That preggo beauty queen. No one makes me laugh harder than her seriously.

My BFF clare invited me to her baby shared album through her phone. It's been the best thing ever. And I totally save all my faves on my own phone :)

And visits with baby Sophie live in person! She will get better at the selfie game soon enough ;)

I was so proud of this photo. I went super early to the polls. And felt strong and confident in the many lines of my neighbors. But more on the outcome here...
