Yesterday, E and I slugged off to the airport, and said or goodbyes. Now I am sitting in my room all alone...yeehaw pity-party! JK--I won't do that to ya! I will chat a little bit about the last few days and smile big!
Monday, we spent a lot of time in Washington Square Park by the NYU
campus. We saw a lot of weird
people. Pigeon trainers, heckling old chess players, a man screaming
music from his headphones while circling the park and jumping in front of dogs
walking with their owners, a high man peeing in the bushes {E told him to use
the bathroom, no one wants to see that, he said OK – haha!}, there were just
tons of ‘em. There was also a topless woman sunbathing, which according
to E, is allowed in NYC – huh, good for her? We had some subway sammys on the grass,
took a little nap, and then E worked on some work for school. I stared a lot,
and wrote, that’s about it. But it was so wonderful. I also picked up some sunscreen, since I have
started subtly glowing read in the facial region.
We picked up some wings {20 to be specific} and beer for
dinner, and trekked on over to the Empire State building to knock off our last
official tourist act of the week. E hadn’t been yet after months of living
here, so he was super amped. It was $22 dollaz, and though I’m not usually a
huge supporter of pricey-high-building-viewing stuff like that on trips, I am
glad we went. And I am glad E thought of going at night, because it was
beautiful to see that city like that! It was a perfect night too, great weather
and not too busy. Just wonderful:)
Tuesday, E had a lot of work to do for his class , so we just played footsy in the library instead of sun bathing in the park.
But that’s OK because we had a gorgeous view of the city, and the promise that
his class would be over later that day {not to mention the promise that I was going
to Forever 21 at Times Square – again – while he was at class!}. I can keep myself entertained pretty
easily {and I had Hunger Games with me – eeee! Can’t wait to see the movie!
And can’t believe how many peoples profile pics have changed to their “District
Identification Pass”. My sister even had a card made and sent to her from some
website!} with grassy knolls in beautiful parks :)
{this actually was candid despite how posed it looks. though i don't remember what i'm laughing at...}
Once E got done, we picked up some pizza for the hungry boy, and hoped the subway back to Brooklyn to spend some time together without the hussel and bussel of the city.
And after a week bliss, I am back to working everyday at a dead-end office job {that was actually really fun to come back to today!} and counting the days until I move back home for my summer job {EEEEK!!!!} and I get to see my long distance BF again {someday...?}.
It's a daily struggle to live in the moment and not constantly wait for the next thing, don't you think? Sometimes I wish there was an off button for my "looking ahead" brainwaves.
But, gosh darn it, how lucky am I?

What a fun adventure! Man what I would give to go to New York and be a tourist! I'd soak it all in! Actually there's a lot I wouldn't give up to go....but that being said I still really want to go! One day!
:)
It is a daily struggle for me to live in the moment and not focus on 'what's next.' The important thing, however, is that you genuinely seem to appreciate what you have, which means you are already ahead of the game. I'm a big 'bloom where you're planted' believer lately.
I'm so glad you found my blog because it makes me feel even luckier to have found yours!
Cheers, my dear. :)
I totally agree! I love that,'bloom where you're planted', those words really do mean a lot. Thanks for the comment:):)
Totally! It's a wonderful place, I thought I would hate it. You should make that happen:)
